Do you train from home? Here are your basics

When I don't have access to the gym, I do all my strength training from home.

If you don't have access to a gym either, or maybe you are still not feeling like getting into one, you can becomes stronger, develop muscle and reduce pains and aches by doing the strength training from the comfort of your home.

So, what equipment do you need for this?

Here's what I use and recommend to my clients. I found these are fairly priced and extremely useful, unless you are at the point of lifting really heavy. Should that be the case, you will get far better results by going to the gym, or you could build your home gym if you have the room and the budget.

In Europe, the way to go for me is Decathlon. Here's what I use:

  • Set of interchangeable weights. It comes with 2 rods to make 2 dumbbells, + the plates to make each dumbbell up to 10kg.

My other go-to piece of equipment, is this adjustable Kettlebell from Amazon

Finally, I keep a set of elastic bands that I can use in lieu of the cables at the gym. Not a perfect replacement, but they do a good job, specially when you are a beginner

Some additional and more optional equipment I have and you could also use:

  • From the set of plates shown above, I also have 2 of the 10 kg plates and 2 of the 5 kg plates that I use for heavier stuff like hip thrusts and deadlifts

  • I got this barbell for those exercises from Decathlon to make sure it fits the plates I have.

  • A pad for my hip thrusts from Amazon.

  • A home bench from Amazon as well.

Hope you find this useful and do message me privately if you have any questions!
